Colors by Feliks X Brooklyn Cloth Collab just dropped.
For those that know who Felik's is, we did a little Q&A
My name is Feliks Kaparchuk, and I am an artist. I have always had a passion for art and creativity, and honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life! Growing up, I lived in Russia and moved to the United States when I was seven years old. I was always taught to work hard, and that art could not be a career, so I never really took it seriously. However, since I was 14 years old, I would still spend any free time I could creating art. In the last few years, I've really focused on art and growing a community where we can encourage each other to create in a world where creativity isn't always supported. We have built a supportive community of 1 million people across the ColorByFeliks Instagram and YouTube accounts, where I share my painting process, techniques, and what I've learned on my journey to becoming a full-time artist. My hope is that ColorByFeliks can be a support system for young and emerging artists — something I didn't really have growing up — and that we can inspire and help artists to keep creating!
The name ColorByFeliks came naturally because it is just who I am (Feliks) and what I'm sharing with the world (Color). Most of my pieces have vibrant colors, which is my favorite part when creating. I actually love to mix my own colors for each piece just using primary acrylic colors, so I thought it would be a fitting name.
"Breakthrough," the design on the black jacket, is a very special piece to me. It was a painting I created when I was transitioning from a job that I hated to being a full-time artist. This piece represents breaking through the difficult seasons and enduring through the struggles in order to reach our greater purpose and potential. I want every person that wears this jacket to fulfill and live out their purpose. "Keep Palm and Carry On," the design on the denim jacket, was inspired by a trip to Miami and something I created to represent peace and stillness for whoever wears it.
The inspiration behind each work really varies depending on the seasons of life and experiences. Generally, I am inspired by God's creation, the beauty of nature, travel, and colors. I like to allow my creativity to take over and make each piece in my own style.
